Learn to eliminate problems so you can identify opportunities

EXECUTIVE COACHING: CLIENTS AND SCENARIOS

These are some of the scenarios and leaders we advise:

Transition to leadership:

the VP who has received a promotion and whose responsibilities have grown in size and scope; the technical expert who now manages a global team of 100 vs. 20 in just one office.

Core management and leadership skills:

the Director or VP who has been promoted quickly and whose responsibilities have doubled in scope and strategic impact; the executive who wishes to manage people effectively yet needs support and guidance on what to say and how to say it.

Communication and executive presence:

the GM, MD, VP, or C-level leader who wishes to communicate that she is engaged, excited, and confident in every setting–1:1, groups, or auditoriums; the executive who is preparing to present at a conference or facilitate an offsite in which the board of directors will be analyzing every word and movement he makes; the “abrasive” leader who struggles to communicate authentically and appropriately.

EXECUTIVE COACHING: SAMPLE PLAN

Curious about the specifics of how we work with executives?

Each coaching experience is unique because we customize a set of assessments and a plan of action to meet your specific needs. However, over the years we’ve identified the optimal systems and programs that ensure the greatest professional growth.

  • You and your coach meet twice per month for 60-90 minutes.
  • Engagements are scheduled for six, nine or twelve month periods.
  • Each coaching engagement is unique and allows us to adjust and tailor the program to fit the your needs.

STEP 1: ASSESSMENT AND STRENGTHS IDENTIFICATION

Through personal interviews with your executive coach and proven evaluation tools, we collect information about your current and past leadership roles, your career successes and challenges, educational pursuits, and the values that drive your professional life.

In this initial step, we focus on learning what makes you tick as a leader. We also confirm our expectations for a successful coaching partnership, including how we will measure outcomes.

Timeframe: Month 1

Activities:

  • Two 60 to 90-minute coaching sessions. Your coach prepares for each meeting and also compiles post-meeting notes and action steps.
  • You and your coach’s review of your questionnaire and the appropriate assessments.
  • Your coach’s interviews with five to ten stakeholders.
  • Brief email and phone check-ins with your coach between meetings.
STEP 2: STRATEGIES AND ACTION PLAN

The plan we designed specifically for you continues to take shape, and we pinpoint the exact steps needed to reach your leadership goals. The plan of action is put into place.

  • Delivery of stakeholder feedback and action plan.
  • Observation at your office/in a meeting (if appropriate).
  • Brief email and phone check-ins with your coach between meetings.
STEP 3: 1:1 COACHING, ACCOUNTABILITY, AND SUPPORT

During each discussion you and your executive coach review your accomplishments since the last meeting and confirm what steps are next in your action plan. Your coach also provides you with relevant articles, exercises, and books.

Timeframe: Months 3-6, 3-9, or 3-12.

  • Brief email and phone check-ins with your coach between meetings.
STEP 4: ONWARD AND UPWARD

As the engagement concludes, we’ll determine a plan of support to optimize your motivation. You’ll keep your new skills in place so you continue to grow as a leader and bring huge value to your organization.

Timeframe: 2 and 4 months after the engagement end date.
